Style is a reflection of your attitude and your personality.

Have you ever woken up in the morning, looking through your wardrobes/bags looking for the perfect clothing for the day? If you wake up feeling upset, what kind of clothing would you pick for the day? This may sound surprising to you but there are ways your mood affects your clothing choice and we’ll unravel that in this article.
Not all the fashionistas you envy out there were born with a fashion sense, their sense of fashion got developed as they grew older and this was influenced by their mood. Knowing how your mood affects your clothing choice will help you a lot. For instance, you can use clothing to control or mask emotions. Also, memories or emotions attached to our clothes can evoke good or bad feelings when we wear them. People dress up the way they want to feel. If theyre feeling a bit insecure, one way to counter the feeling is to dress sharply.
I dress how I feel. I just go off emotion. I cant prepare my outfit the day before. Everything I wear is spontaneous

Consciously or Unconsciously, at a different point in time, your mood has influenced your choice of clothing for each day. You might not know it because you havent paid much attention to it.

Your mode of dressing this morning was influenced by your mood without you realizing it.
Here are 3 ways to Know how your mood affects your clothing choice.
1. A Date
For instance, if you are having a date with someone, this is on two sides. If the date is with someone you love or you are trying to impress, you will feel all giddy, happy, mushy-mushy and you wouldnt want to dress wrongly because you want to impress the person you are going on a date with, As a result of this mood, you spend hours searching through your wardrobe looking for the perfect dress or suit that suits the date, ranging from the color, design, etc. Your happiness helps you come up with the perfect color and design.

On the other hand, if the date is with someone you dont love, probably it is a matchmaking date or you are going just to get the person off your back, you wont feel too happy or secured about going and you wouldnt mind dressing anyhow. Why? Because you are not happy about going, and you are not seeking to Impress such a person, you can decide to go for black color or any other color or design that looks weird and isnt suitable for such an occasion.
2. Interview
If you are slated for an interview, youll be nervous, but you still need the confidence to spike it all up. For someone who has been sending CVs to different companies but was never called to an interview, if he/she eventually gets one.

The mode of dressing will ooze confidence because it was picked from the mood of happiness and nervousness. Unlike someone who has gone for different interviews but keeps getting rejected, he/she might get dressed based on it will still end up the same way.
3. Party/Occasional wears:
Suits/Cooperate wears arent suitable for socializing when it comes to parties/events that are not associated with work. You wouldnt want to socialize with your friends on a TGIF for a drink and got all dressed up in a suit, that has reduced the vibes level.
A suit signifies a level of seriousness that shouldnt be defiled. So when it comes to socializing, you will be all happy and you will come up with bright colors and matching shoes to match the occasion. Just as Black on Black is considered for mourning in parts of Nigeria, you wouldnt wear such to a wedding.

There are different ways our clothing has been affected by our moods. If you wake up feeling upset, moody, sad, frustrated, etc. You will lack the strength to start looking for clothes, you just pick anything your eye catches or your hand touches. But, when you wake up happy and energized for the day, you keep trying different outfits until you get one that perfectly suits you.
Ones choice of clothing speaks one’s mood and tells the personality once you are seen.
