Simply speaking, tech hubs are a space or region where a high density of startup companies cluster together and become part of the economic infrastructure of the community. A tech hub is a place where ideation and product development can be streamlined.
A technology hub or centre is a community, informal or Formal, that is set up mainly for innovation for technological emergencies. It can be a particular area, a specific building, or a community of buildings where larger companies can save space for facilities.
Centres like these are becoming a global trend and helping young entrepreneurs and tech people create products and ideas to solve many of humanity’s problems.
Nigeria is becoming a major player in this age of technological advancements and innovations. Encouraging several young entrepreneurs to emerge in the tech space in search of solutions to the economic challenges present in the country.
Today, there are several tech hubs in Nigeria, from Abuja, Lagos to Port Harcourt and Benin City, in its southern region.

It should be noted that technology hubs in Nigeria were not exhausted in this post. Just a few major players were randomly selected in no particular order.
Enspire Hub

This is an Abuja based technology hub that provides incubation and pre-incubation programs, an acceleration program and business clinics. The Hub started in 2009 and its Value Proposition is focused on promoting business growth and success. The Enspire Hub is also playing a crucial role in launching the Abuja Technology Village Free Zone (ATV) company, which seeks to boost economic growth and sustainable job creation in Nigeria through innovation.
Blue Hub

Blue Sapphire Hub provides services related to business incubation and technology. It kicked off on February 23rd 2017, with a program titled “Young Mind Ideations”, a seminar designed to educate participants on idea creation, entrepreneurship and business set-up. Their focus is incubation, workspaces, training, seminars and ICT consulting.
KAD ICT Hub

This was initiated in Kaduna to serve as a Hub for computer training, software development, computer engineering and enabling software testing. The Hub was established by the Kaduna state government and it goes to show how involved the government of Nigeria are in the technological space.
StartPreneurs

StrartPreneurs was founded by Jennifer Chizua in 2016. They’re sited in Abuja. It is a seed fund and start-up accelerator. StartPreneurs invests and accelerates innovative Nigerian startups, setting them up to be competitive on a global scale. Their major focus however is on artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning.
Wennovation Hub

Wennovation Hub is located in Ibadan, in the southwest region of Nigeria and was founded by Sole Odetayo. They serve as a beacon for many young innovators and entrepreneurs emerging in the city of Ibadan. The centre also has a Lagos office as part of its plan to reach and empower more African youths.
The Wennovation Hub focuses on social impact sectors, including education, agriculture, health and infrastructure, focusing on job creation. They share a working environment where entrepreneurs and other people meet, work, network, share ideas and collaborate on projects to improve the quality of life in Nigeria and in Africa.
Edo Innovates (Edo Innovation Hub)

Edo Hubs is one of the major achievements of Governor Godwin Obaseki’s administration. Edoinnovates was launched on 14th June 2020 by his Excellency, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and has since its inception, seen over 5000 beneficiaries. Its focus is to create an innovation centre that creates the supply of highly skilled ICT talent in Edo State and improves greater access to jobs in the ICT sector.
