Keep reading to see 11 healthy fruits that start with the letter H and their benefits.
1. Hackberry:
Hackberry is a dark red berry that grows on the Celtis occidentalis tree and is known as “nature’s sweets.” They’re common in North America, and they’re known for their ability to withstand drought and harsh urban environments. They’re only harvested in the winter.

The fruit of the hackberry tree is used for both food and medicine. It has a sweet, dry pulp with a crispy skin covering an edible seed in the middle that is delicious and has a candy flavor.
Because the berry’s seed is hard, it must be ground to form a powder that can be used with cornflour to make porridge or be used as a spice component to enhance food flavor.
It is high in protein and carbohydrates, among other nutrients. Proteins help us construct our bodies, whilst carbohydrates provide us with energy.
2. Honey berries:
These springtime fruits are also known as haskap berries. They are oblong blueberries. Some say they have a raspberry-blueberry flavor. Others say they taste like cherries or grapes, but they are definitely worth trying.

They can be added to ice cream, deserts, used as treats or eaten raw.
3. Huckleberry:
Huckleberry is similar to a blueberry but considerably larger, sprouting single berries just where the leaves touch the stem.

These berries are small, spherical, and sour, with a flavor that is comparable to blueberries. That’s why they’re ideal as a base for jam, pudding, pie, ice cream, sauces, tea, and even soup. I think I’ll have to give the last section a shot.
4. Hyuganatsu
Hyuganatsu is a medium-sized fruit with a round to slightly rectangular form. It turns a pale yellow color when fully ripe. The flesh is luscious and sweet, with a sour undertone.

They’re thought to be a naturally occurring yuzu-pomelo cross. And this isn’t your typical citrus, because Hyuganatsu is eaten with the pith (surprising, right?) which, unlike any other citrus fruit, isn’t bitter!

In ripe pods, the pulp, which is bright green in unripe pods, is strongly sweet, crisp, and succulent.

In terms of recipes, the hickory plant provides wood for smoking cured meats, which involves cooking barbeque and seasoning the meat. The nut can be used to make syrup, oil, and butter, as well as bake a cake.

When the hickory fruit nut is cracked, a sweet, oily, rich pecan flavor with an incredible aroma is released. The nuts contain minerals, organic compounds, and a variety of other nutrients.
They grow on Carya Ovata trees and can live up to 350 years.
