There is no better way to celebrate a wedding, birthday, holiday, or any big occasion than with a gorgeous Vanilla Cake.
If you have never baked a cake from scratch you may be surprised at how simple it is to bake one, and that you probably have all of the ingredients around you or stocked in your fridge.
To make Vanilla Cakes, you start by making sure that you’ve prepared your cake pans for baking. I recommend coating them with butter and then lightly flouring the pans.
Vanilla Cake Ingredients
- 226g-unsalted butter
- 300g- sugar
- 1teaspoon- baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon-salt
- 1 cup of milk (liquid)
- 4 large eggs
- 2 tablespoon of vanilla extract.
Now that we know the ingredients we need, let’s look at the procedures for making Vanilla Cakes
Place a piece of brown paper underneath the baking pan,trace it out and cut.(This can be used alternatively to parchment paper)
Into your baking pan, rub the pan with some drop of veg oil and place in your already cut out brown paper or parchment paper.
Cream your butter until soft and creamy.(This will be very much easier using an electric hand mixer),In the case of no hand mixer,beat with a wooden spatula moving either in a clockwise or anti-clockwise direction.
Gradually add in your sugar into step 3 and beat until it is light and fluffy. (one way to know it is ready is when the mixture falls back easily into the bowl when you scoop some with a spatula.
To step 4 add the vanilla extract and mix it together.
Add in your eggs into step 5,adding one egg at a time.(After a egg has been added, beat the mixture properly before adding the next one).
With your mixer on a low speed, alternatively add in your milk and your flour. (starting with your flour and ending with your flour, i.e.pour in some portion of your flour, mix and add a portion of the milk, add some flour again, mix and add your milk, mix and then add the final portion of the flour and mix.
Pour in step 7 into your already prepared pan and bake for abut 35mins. (This may vary depending on the medium of baking you are using.
Note: Your cake is ready when a toothpick or fork is dug at the middle and it come out clean.
